Jieyi (Jenny) Wu is a theatre maker currently based in Los Angeles, CA. She is pursuing a profession in theatrical directing and dramaturgy. Having just graduated from undergrad with degrees in Theatre and Classical Studies, she now works for various theatre companies around Los Angeles while applying for MFA programs in Directing on the West Coast.
Jenny was born and raised in Shanghai, China. She came to the United States alone as an international student at the age of 14 to attend high school in Massachusetts. Jenny was then accepted into Colgate University and finished her Bachelor's degrees in Theatre and Classical Studies. After her graduation in May 2023, she moved to Los Angeles, CA to continue her career in theatre.
As a multicultural theatre maker, Jenny strives to create theatrical pieces that transcends the audiences' differences in language, culture, social class and levels of education. She endeavors to create works that resonate with the most fundamental aspects of our shared humanity.
